Role: Project Management Assistant

Summary
This is an exciting role to help ESDO achieve impact on some of the most challenging issues in the humanitarian aid and development sector. You will be helping to implement projects and manage resources for ESDO’s missions on behalf of donors and clients. You will be working on issues such as conflict, refugees, climate change, intersectionality and equality. The role requires an enthusiastic, flexible person with well developed time management and computer skills. You will be confident networking with partners and colleagues and have a strong orientation to support team members and systemise your work. The successful candidate will work autonomously in a small team and will have a desire to learn and grow fast. This is an initial 12 month position for someone early in their career.
The Role
This role will help coordinate project activities from the beginning of the project life cycle to the end. It will include mobilising resources, administering projects and ensuring project activities and reporting are completed for all of our six missions. The responsibilities of the role will include:
Project Implementation (80% of time)
- Scheduling, attending and minute taking of project meetings including with donors/clients and partners
- Initiating projects using ESDO systems
- Onboarding project personnel, orientating them and ensuring all HR and Finance processes are completed
- Project financial management including managing invoice schedules and managing consultant payments and milestones
- Completing project reporting requirements
- Coordinating inputs from colleagues
- Supporting project managers and directors with project tasks
- Assist with client communication and management
- Project marketing activity such as blog posts, website updates and press releases
Fundraising (5% of time)
- Identifying partners and consultants for potential projects
- Coordinating inputs from colleagues
- Proving clients with compliance information during contracting
Corporate Support (15% of time)
- Content writing for online properties including website and social media
- Assist with a range of administrative tasks including but not limited to recruitment processes, software selection, expenses and corporate service development
- Supporting senior personnel with administrative tasks
- Participating in continuous professional development processes
Requirements
This is a role for someone early in their career who is excited to learn and grow at fast pace inside a small but dynamic and supportive team.
A successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
- Complete native fluency in written and spoken English
- Project experience in the humanitarian aid and development sector
- Research and/or monitoring and evaluation experience
- Knowledge of research approaches
- Desirable but not necessary:
- French, Arabic, Ukrainian or Spanish language fluency
Engagement Terms
This is an initial 12 month contract with an opportunity for extension.
The monthly all inclusive fee is USD1,200.
This is a remote homeworking consultant position and you can be based anywhere in the world.
