Role: Fundraising Officer

Summary

This is an exciting role to help ESDO achieve impact on some of the most challenging issues in the humanitarian aid and development sector. You will be helping to win projects and funding for ESDO’s missions and project pipeline, including projects on refugees, climate change and equality. The role requires an enthusiastic, flexible person with well developed writing skills and confidence in networking with partners and colleagues. The successful candidate will work autonomously in a small team and will have a desire to learn and grow fast.   

The Role

This role will help coordinate activities to secure funding for ESDO including through the preparation and submission of proposals, tender responses and fundraising materials for all of our six missions. The responsibilities of the role will include: Fundraising (90% of time)
  • Drafting proposals and completing proposal compliance documents
  • Attending donor and partner meetings
  • Conducting pre-proposal research on clients and their projects
  • Selecting partners and consultants for potential projects
  • Coordinating inputs from colleagues
  • Assisting in meeting preparation
  • Assist with client communication and management
  • Marketing activity such as blog posts, website updates and press releases
  • Representation at fundraising meetings, presentations and virtual events
Project Management (5% of time)
  • Coordinate the proposal development process
Corporate Support (5% of time)
  • Content writing for online properties including website and social media
  • Assist with a range of administrative tasks including but not limited to recruitment processes, software selection, expenses and corporate service development
  • Participating in continuous professional development processes

Requirements

This is a role for someone with excellent English writing skills with experience and knowledge of monitoring and evaluation and, most importantly, who is excited to learn and grow at fast pace inside a small but dynamic and supportive team. A successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
  • Complete fluency in written and spoken English
  • Willingness to learn how to fundraise
  • Knowledge of research and/or evaluation methods
  • Desirable but not necessary:
    • Fundraising experience in the humanitarian aid and development sector

Engagement Terms

The monthly all inclusive fee is EUR1,300. In addition this role is eligible for performance-based payments in accordance with ESDO’s Policy: Performance Based Payments for Fundraising.   This is a full time, remote homeworking consultant position and you can be based anywhere in the world. This position is vacant now.
